Okagbare sweeps 2010 C-USA Outdoor Championships honours

University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) Senior Blessing Okagbare was named the 2010 Conference USA Outdoor Championships female Performer of the Meet and the High Point Scorer of the Meet for the second consecutive year on Sunday night at the UCF Track and Field Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The Nigerian, who's also a nine-time All-American, won the women’s long jump with a leap of 6.58m in her first attempt on Saturday, took the second in 6.41m and passed on the remaining four attempts of the competition.

Okagbare then took the 100m title in 11.36 seconds and later on Sunday led her teammates Shalaiyah Sommerville, Endurance Abinuwa and Siohbian Crain to second place with a season-best time of 44.36 seconds in the women's 4x100m relay.

Her compatriots Endurance Abinuwa placed second in 53.82 seconds in the women's 400 metres and seventh in 24.37 seconds in the 200 metres and Suji Adeniyan won his heat in the men's 100 metres in 10.46 seconds before joining up with Anderson Mutegi, Curtis Kock and Ronalds Arajs in the men's 4x100-meter relay to post a season best 39.77 seconds.
