Nigeria selects 60 Athletes for 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has shortlisted 60 athletes and 19 officials for Team Nigeria to the 10th All Africa Games to be held September 3-18 this year, in Maputo, Mozambique's capital.

According to a release signed by the AFN President, Chief Solomon Ogba, the shortlisted athletes are those that won their events with good return time, distances in jumps and throws in the just ended 65th Nigeria/Cross River State Track and Field Competition in Calabar.

Meanwhile, an official of the AFN told Athletics Africa that the athletics camp has been opened since Tuesday in Abuja and enjoined the home-based athletes to take note and report to camp immediately.
