The 18th IAAF/EDF Energy World Half Marathon Championships holds in Birmingham, United Kingdom on Sunday 11 October, 2009.

VIP Marathon in memory of former President Mwalimu J. K. Nyerere holds in Arusha, Tanzania on October 14, 2009.

The marathon will start from the Impala Hotel and finish at Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge.

The event includes a five kilometre walk, which will start at Usa River Police Station and finishes at Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge.

Nelson Mandela Bay Nedbank Matha Series Half Marathon, Port Elizabeth and 5km fun run (incorporating the SA Half Marathon Championships).

The event will start and finish at the NU 2 Motherwell Stadium, in Port Elizabeth on July 4, 2009.

The starting times are 07h00 for the 21.1km wheelchair race, 07h15 for the 21.1km main race and 07h30 for the 5km fun run.

The 2008 City of Abuja Marathon (CAM-2008) will be held in the Nigerian federal capital city of Abuja on Saturday 27th September, 2008.

Nedbank City of Cape Town Marathon will be held in Capetown, South Africa on Sunday 21 September, 2008.
