Chief Executive Officer:  Yomi Omogbeja

Yomi Omogbeja joined the Department of Journalism Studies in September 2003 for an MA in Web Journalism course and graduated in September 2004. He had already received his first degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, with a B.ED in Guidance and Counseling Psychology.

He later studied for an M.ED in Kinetics and Health Education at the same University and was awarded a specialist degree in Sport Psychology.

Yomi was awarded a Foreign and Commonwealth Office/Chevening Scholarship, administered by the British Council, in 2003 and was also a finalist in the Press Gazette UK student online journalist of the year award in 2004.

His research interests are in the area of New Media and Internet, Social Communications, Information Communication Technologies, Education, Professional Virtual Communities and Corporate Social Responsibility.

He´s had previous work placement/experience at the BBC New Media and Technology/Interactive department in London, Oil and Gas International Inc. USA http://www.oilandgasinternational.com, the Daily Telegraph in London, Northcliffe Electronic Publishing Company – http://www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk in Derby and Leeds-based Orange Multimedia Company – http://www.ananova.com

At the moment, he´s studying the way Nigerian media use the internet for his PhD research, and he also edit the news website http://www.athleticsAfrica.com – a spin off from his MA dissertation.
